Smith Block was built in 1872 and is one of the few surviving cast-iron buildings along Downtown Portland’s Waterfront Park. In August 2019, Melvin Mark Investors purchased the historic building and has since renovated the main floor lobby and improved the building’s curb appeal with new paint, landscaping, and tenant signage. Smith Block features a beautiful brick-and-iron façade restored to its original character as well as exposed brick, custom wood windows, and a multi-floor glass skylight corridor inside.
The 31,688 square-foot building offers easy access to several major thoroughfares and is located steps from Pine Street Market, Pioneer Square, and a variety of other restaurants, bars, and amenities. Smith Block is managed by Melvin Mark Brokerage Company and is home to tenants Lechon Restaurant and Boulder Care.
