Chris Folkestad

Overview

Chris grew up very familiar with the commercial real estate world. Both his mother and father were in the industry and his involvement in property management started at a young age, when he helped take care of an apartment complex by landscaping and cleaning on weekends in high school.

Chris joined Melvin Mark in 2021 with a wealth of experience. He began his career by managing downtown Class-A properties and office headquarters and expanded his skill set with extensive corporate real estate and complex construction projects in the banking and healthcare industries. As part of the property management team, Chris currently represents several properties and is involved in construction management projects as they arise. He works to ensure buildings operate well and tenants are cared for, and also enjoys communicating with a diverse array of vendors and contractors to give new projects a special touch.

A native Portlander, Chris enjoys getting outside (especially to the coast or mountains), fitness, reading, spending time with his wife and three children, and maintaining what he describes as his “backyard jungle of fruit trees, berries, and tropical plants.”
